What does the Carnival of Las Palmas have in store for us this year?

Carnival theme

This year’s theme promises to be more vibrant and energetic than ever. Although the organisers have not yet revealed what it will be, it is expected to revolve around the cultures and colours of the world, which will provide an atmosphere full of diversity, integration and unity.

Featured events

There are many events that will be held in this edition of the  Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival, but there are three that you can’t miss:

• Queen’s Gala: This is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited moments among carnivals. The Queen’s Gala presents the most impressive and creative Carnival costumes in a competition open to all attendees.
• Murga contests: These fun groups are a fundamental part of carnivals in the Canary Islands. During these contests, the different groups face each other in battles full of rhythm and humour that brighten up the Carnival nights.
• The Grand Parade: The icing on the cake of the events in the Las Palmas Carnival is the Grand Parade. Here, all the participants and attendees come together to parade through the streets of the city with joy and colour.
