Discover the best escape rooms in San Sebastian to test your wits
San Sebastian is home to a wide variety of escape rooms. We’ll show you the most popular, unique, and dynamic games so you can find the perfect one for your group.
Explosive mission
Designed for children (8-12 years old), this game is perfect for young players. For first-timers, we suggest adult supervision.
Did you know that in San Sebastian there is a criminal named Gazz who specializes in manufacturing chemical weapons? That’s why the FBI has been tracking him for a long time. Now, the time has come to catch him, as police have received a tip about a series of suspicious activities in the warehouses of a building. However, Gazz has already been tipped off and has placed a bomb in the building.
Will you defuse the bomb in time? Will you save the residents?
The duration is approximately one hour, and the cost ranges from €60 to €130 (the price varies depending on the number of players).
Sewers
Do you know San Sebastian International Film Festival? The fame of this festival has led to an scape room being created in the city to pay homage to it, albeit in a peculiar way.
Your goal during the game is to get the Golden Shell. To do that, you must get into the Kursaal during the closing ceremony. The key is to swap out the winner’s envelope. It sounds simple, but the only way to get in without being discovered is through the sewers. The question is, will you be alone in those tunnels?
Based on the plot, it might seem like a horror game. However, it’s actually more focused on intrigue and mystery. Because of this, the minimum age to participate is 14 years old, or 12 if accompanied by an adult.
The game lasts for about an hour and ten minutes. As for participants, the minimum is two (€60) and the maximum is six (€100).
The Mystery of Tomas and Clara
For us, LOCKING is one of the best escape rooms in San Sebastian because it takes place outdoors at several tourist spots. We can tell you that physical and math-based challenges are the most common in this game, as it’s full of visual and logic puzzles.
Many years ago in Donosti, a well-known couple, Clara and Tomás, disappeared. She was a prestigious painter and he was a humble fisherman who fed many families at the port. Their disappearance left no one indifferent, and even the police worked tirelessly for many years to find them, but without success.
Ready to solve the mystery of Clara and Tomas? This escape room is also a great opportunity to get to know San Sebastian a bit better, as it begins at the Duque de Mandas Palace, one of the city’s most important architectural landmarks.

Izurun
This scape room is for beginners, with a medium difficulty level. However, it’s an exciting game where history, culture, and fun are the main focus from start to finish.
The first documented records of San Sebastián date back to the year 1014. They already referred to a monastery located in a neighborhood that still has the same name today: El Antiguo. Most historians agree that the area was known as Izurun. Throughout this scape room, you’ll dive into 1,000 years of history, as it ends with the city’s designation as a European Capital in 2016.
It’s a way to learn a bit more about history, but with a dynamic approach and numerous puzzles that will put your senses to the test.
La duración es de una hora y pueden participar dos personas como mínimo y 6 como máximo. En la web puedes reservar el día que mejor te convenga y la hora, ya que hay una amplia franja horaria para que así te organices.
Donostia 1813
Did you know that the city of San Sebastian was the last bastion of the Napoleonic troops during the Peninsular War? The reason was the great walled fortress that resisted the assault of the English troops. However, in 1813, a breach occurred through which the soldiers finally entered.
Your mission will be to help a young married couple escape before the looting and destruction of the city by British troops. For us, it’s the best way to get to know the Old Town in detail, with iconic places like Alderdi Eder Park, the Bretxa Market, or the Church of San Vicente, among others. Additionally, throughout the scape room, you will meet numerous characters from that period who will give you the clues you need.
The game lasts for approximately 75 minutes and takes place outdoors, covering a distance of about 3 kilometers. Up to 24 players can participate, and having a mobile phone is essential, as it’s the main tool you’ll use.
